Job summary

HIP Housing is seeking a Maintenance Technician to ensure safe, clean, and efficient operation of apartment properties across San Mateo County. You will perform routine maintenance, respond to requests, and support property managers to maintain high living standards for residents.

The role requires working under the Property Manager, handling preventive maintenance, completing work orders, and coordinating with contractors.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 4+ years of experience in multi-family building maintenance or related field preferred.
• Familiarity with state, city, and federal inspections (Section 8, CTCAC).
• Ability to read and interpret manuals, schematics, and blueprints.

Responsibilities

• Complete unit turnovers and make-ready work (repairs, painting, janitorial cleaning).
• Complete assigned work orders, including plumbing, electrical, caulking, flooring, drywall, appliance repair, and painting.
