About the Role

As the Maintenance Lead, you will play a key role in maintaining plant reliability, supporting ongoing operations, and driving critical process‑improvement initiatives. This hands‑on role requires strong mechanical aptitude, problem‑solving ability, and leadership skills within a regulated manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities
  • Perform hands‑on mechanical, piping, welding, and basic electrical troubleshooting/repair on process equipment, rotating machinery, utilities, and facility systems
  • Execute preventive and predictive maintenance programs and maintain accurate documentation
  • Monitor and maintain parts inventory to support smooth plant operations
  • Provide technical support to maintenance technicians and production teams
  • Support equipment upgrades, capital projects, and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Lead and coordinate outside contractors to ensure safe, high‑quality execution
  • Participate in root cause investigations and propose effective corrective actions
  • Maintain an organized, safe, and compliant maintenance shop aligned with 5S standards
  • Ensure adherence to OSHA, GMP, and internal safety/quality procedures
  • Assist in equipment diagnostics, disassembly/reassembly, and performance testing
  • Collaborate with departments to prioritize maintenance work and reduce downtime
  • Support weekend or emergency overtime when needed; operate forklifts, man‑lifts, and tools safely
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • 7–10+ years of plant maintenance experience in chemical, pharmaceutical, or industrial manufacturing
  • Strong mechanical repair and preventive/predictive maintenance background
  • Experience with pumps, piping, rotating equipment, condensers, distillation columns, reactors, and corrosion‑related maintenance
  • GMP/regulatory environment experience preferred; OSHA PSM familiarity
  • Ability to read mechanical drawings, procedures, and safety documentation
  • Skilled in using precision tools (dial indicators, micrometers, calipers)
  • Strong communication, organization, troubleshooting, and teamwork skills
  • Reliable, flexible, and able to support emergency maintenance needs
