Join an innovative biopharmaceutical manufacturing organization dedicated to safety, reliability, and operational excellence. As a Maintenance Mechanic, you will play a key role in maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing critical process and utility equipment used in pharmaceutical production.

This position ensures that all systems and equipment operate safely, efficiently, and in compliance with current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP) and company safety standards. You will work closely with maintenance technicians, engineering, and operations teams to support reliable, high-quality manufacturing processes.

You Will Be Responsible For
  • Performing preventive and corrective maintenance on manufacturing and utility equipment such as pumps, valves, piping, agitators, centrifuges, washers, and autoclaves
  • Troubleshooting mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems to minimize downtime
  • Assisting with equipment installation, alignment, calibration, and testing
  • Supporting mechanical rebuilds, repairs, and adjustments as needed
  • Maintaining accurate records of maintenance work in the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS)
  • Following and updating Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and maintenance documentation
  • Inspecting and replacing parts, lubricating equipment, and ensuring operational readiness
  • Identifying improvement opportunities for equipment reliability and performance
  • Ensuring all work follows LOTO, safety, and cGMP procedures
  • Reporting unsafe conditions to Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) and management
  • Supporting off‑shift, weekend, or emergency maintenance activities as required
  • Maintaining a clean and organized work environment and complying with all site policies
You Will Bring the Following
  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • 4–6 years of mechanical maintenance experience in a manufacturing, pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or similar environment
  • Experience with mechanical systems, utilities, and preventive maintenance programs
  • Basic knowledge of CMMS software for tracking work orders and maintenance history
Preferred Education & Experience
  • Associate degree or technical certification in Mechanical Technology, Industrial Maintenance, or a related field
  • 6+ years of experience in a regulated or cGMP manufacturing environment
  • Familiarity with pumps, piping systems, steam, HVAC, and process utilities
  • Experience reading and interpreting mechanical drawings and equipment manuals
Certifications (Preferred)
  • Certified Maintenance & Reliability Technician (CMRT) or equivalent
  • OSHA Safety or Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) Certification
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Strong understanding of mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems
  • Knowledge of basic electrical and control systems a plus
  • Ability to read and interpret P&IDs, blueprints, and technical drawings
  • Demonstrated commitment to safety, accuracy, and quality
  • Excellent problem‑solving and troubleshooting skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a cross‑functional team
  • Strong attention to detail and time management abilities
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to ascend/descend ladders, scaffolding, and ramps
  • Capable of standing, walking, or sitting for extended periods
  • Able to lift, push, or pull up to 50 lbs
  • Manual dexterity for working with tools and equipment
  • Must have corrected 20/20 vision and color distinction ability
  • Must be able to hear and respond to audible alarms and instructions
  • May require use of hearing protection, respiratory protection, or PPE
  • May work in confined spaces or elevated areas
  • Work performed in production, mechanical, and utility areas
  • May involve exposure to temperature variations, noise, or chemical vapors
  • May require occasional work outdoors or in enclosed environments
  • Must adhere to cleanroom and contamination control procedures
