Maintenance Supervisor

Full Time Management Denver, CO, US

Salary Range: $90,000.00 To $100,000.00 Annually

Job Summary

The Maintenance Supervisor leads the day-to-day maintenance operations within a 503B pharmaceutical manufacturing environment, under the direction of the Sr. Manager of Facilities. This position provides direct, daily supervision to Maintenance Technicians, ensuring work is scheduled, executed, and documented in compliance with cGMP, safety, and regulatory standards. The Supervisor serves as the first point of escalation for maintenance issues, coordinates preventative maintenance and calibrations, and coaches and develops team members to build a safe, reliable, and audit-ready facility.

Essential Job Functions
Leadership & Supervision
  • Provide daily oversight, coaching, direction, and performance input for Maintenance Technicians.
  • Develop and maintain daily/weekly team schedules, assign tasks, and monitor workload to ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and cGMP expectations.
  • Support the hiring, onboarding, and training of team members; provide input to the Sr. Manager on performance and development.
  • Track daily timekeeping and PTO requests for direct reports.
Maintenance Program Management
  • Oversee execution of preventive maintenance, corrective maintenance, and equipment reliability activities for production equipment, cleanroom systems, and facility infrastructure.
  • Ensure all maintenance work is accurately documented in the CMMS and performed according to cGMP, safety standards, and established SOPs.
  • Perform or assign hands-on troubleshooting and repairs; elevate complex issues to the Sr. Manager.
  • Monitor equipment performance, identify trends, and report improvement opportunities to the Manager.
  • Support day-to-day monitoring of critical utilities, including HVAC systems, compressed air, water systems, boilers, and electrical distribution.
  • Conduct routine facility inspections to identify deficiencies and safety hazards and report findings to the Manager.
  • Manage inventory of maintenance components for systems and equipment including consumables.
Project Support
  • Support capital, infrastructure, and facility improvement projects as assigned, including scheduling and on-site contractor coordination.
  • Serve as the on-site point of contact for contractors and vendors during project execution.
  • Developing Preventative Maintenance Plans for new equipment
  • Reinforce compliance with OSHA, EPA, and company safety programs among the team.
  • Facilitate forklift/PIT training for team members as directed by the Manager.
  • Manage day-to-day ordering of non-cGMP safety consumables and PPE for the team.
  • Participate in safety incident investigations and corrective actions as directed.
Regulatory Compliance
  • Ensure work performed by the team complies with FDA 503B regulations, cGMP guidelines, and internal quality systems.
  • Support audits and inspections by providing maintenance and calibration documentation and responding to inquiries.
  • Maintain maintenance related training records and documentation.
Multi-Site Support
  • Coordinate day-to-day maintenance activities and facility support across sites as directed by the Sr. Manager.
  • Provide on-call or emergency response coverage as needed.
Minimum Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree or post-secondary vocational training in industrial maintenance, electrical technology, HVAC, or a related field preferred.
  • 5+ years of maintenance experience in a regulated manufacturing environment.
  • 2+ years in a lead or supervisory capacity.
  • Working knowledge of cGMPs and 503B regulations.
  • Strong mechanical/electrical troubleshooting ability.
  • Working knowledge of OSHA safety regulations and hazardous materials handling.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with CMMS systems.
  • HAZWOPER awareness or certification.
  • Technical certifications or trade school training.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs.
  • Work in confined spaces and mechanical rooms.
  • Operate tools, ladders, and PIT/forklifts.
  • Work in cleanrooms and PPE-required environments.
  • Ability to work at heights with proper safety equipment/PPE.
  • Exposure to chemicals, equipment, and varying temperatures.
  • Requires on-site presence and occasional off-hour support.
  • Travel between sites as required. ~10%
Supervisory Responsibilities
  • Supervises Maintenance Technicians
  • Provides day-to-day direction to contractors and service providers on-site.
