Job summary

UniFirst is seeking a reliable Maintenance Supervisor to ensure facility equipment functions efficiently and to identify process improvements. The role involves supervising maintenance staff, performing preventive maintenance, and ensuring safety and compliance.

Overtime may occur, including nights and weekends as needed. You will diagnose mechanical/electrical issues, inspect machinery, and use blueprints and PLCs, with on‑the‑job training provided.

Qualifications

• Two-year technical degree preferred; high school/GED acceptable.
• Must be at least 21 years old with a valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
• Must pass UniFirst maintenance knowledge assessment.
• 3+ years repairing industrial processing equipment in a production environment.
• 2+ years supervising maintenance personnel preferred.
• Maintenance administration experience including planning, scheduling, budgeting, negotiation, parts/vendor management, and maintenance systems.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose mechanical and electrical problems and determine corrective action using blueprints/schematics/repair manuals.
• Inspect, operate, and test machinery to diagnose malfunctions.
• Perform basic welding on facilities/equipment.
• Troubleshoot and repair PLCs and control systems.
• Perform preventive maintenance on facility and production assets.
• Follow documentation and specifications per blueprints and manuals.
• Monitor and test boiler chemical and wastewater pre-treatment systems; record results and adjust as needed.
• Manage and assign maintenance tasks; cover shifts when required.
• Ensure safety, regulatory, and environmental compliance within maintenance.
• Utilize CMMS and coordinate with Production Manager on budget and parts/labor.
• Train and develop maintenance staff; perform other duties as assigned.
