Job summary

UniFirst is seeking a reliable Maintenance Supervisor to ensure all facility equipment functions efficiently and to identify process improvement opportunities. The role includes supervising maintenance staff, overseeing preventive maintenance, and coordinating with the Production Manager on budgets and schedules.

Strong blueprint reading, PLC troubleshooting, and CMMS skills are required. The position offers a Monday–Friday work week with periodic night and weekend overtime, on‑the‑job training,

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Two-year technical degree preferred.
• Must be 21+ with a valid driver’s license.
• Minimum 3 years repairing industrial processing equipment in a production environment.
• Minimum 2 years supervising maintenance personnel is preferred.
• Experience with maintenance administration including planning, scheduling, budgeting, vendor management and CMMS.
• Ability to read blueprints and schematics.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Lockout/Tagout experience required.
• Ability to lift up to 80 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose mechanical and electrical problems and determine corrective action using manuals and schematics.
• Inspect, operate, and test machinery to diagnose malfunctions.
• Perform basic welding to repair facilities and equipment.
• Troubleshoot PLCs and control systems.
• Perform preventive maintenance on facility and production assets.
• Follow blueprints and engineering specifications per schedule.
• Test boiler chemical and wastewater pre-treatment systems and log results.
• Manage and assign all equipment maintenance and schedule overtime when needed.
• Oversee maintenance safety and regulatory compliance.
• Utilize CMMS to track maintenance activities.
• Develop and manage budget for building and equipment with Production Manager.
• Train and develop maintenance staff.
• Perform other duties as assigned by leadership.
