Carmeuse in Kentucky is seeking a Plant Maintenance Supervisor to lead front-line maintenance workers, focusing on mechanical and electrical upkeep, safety, and preventive actions to reduce downtime.

The role involves coordinating outages, implementing improvements, and ensuring accurate reporting of work orders while collaborating with the Engineering and Production teams to maximize kiln efficiency and meet production goals.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of industrial, mechanical maintenance experience.
• 5+ years of supervisory experience in heavy manufacturing or mining or related sectors.
• Ability to read safety rules, operating instructions, procedures, blueprints; write routine reports and correspondence.
• Proven leadership to drive safety and reliability improvements; PLC knowledge a plus.
• Strong troubleshooting of mechanical and electrical systems; CMMS/SAP familiarity.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership to ensure safety rules and regulations are observed by employees and plan resources and budgeting to achieve site safety goals.
• Participate in safety training for all assigned employees and interface with MSHA as required.
• Coordinate and monitor maintenance activities; ensure preventative action to avoid nonconformities.
• Ensure accurate reporting of maintenance work orders, including urgent repairs.
• Provide technical and tactical support to the Maintenance Team, Engineer, Production and Project Manager to maximize kiln efficiency and minimize downtime.
• Identify training needs for plant maintenance personnel and coordinate training.
• Execute the daily maintenance plan to meet sales and production needs while controlling maintenance costs.
• Monitor KPIs and brief supervisory/management on findings; participate in meetings with maintenance and production.
