Job summary

UniFirst is seeking a reliable Maintenance Supervisor to join our team. You will ensure all facility equipment runs efficiently and manage maintenance staff, with a Monday–Friday schedule and occasional night/weekend overtime.

On-the-job training is provided. You will diagnose problems, perform preventive maintenance, read blueprints, supervise shifts, ensure safety and regulatory compliance, and work with the Production Manager to manage the budget.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years of work experience repairing industrial processing equipment in a production environment.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience supervising maintenance personnel.
• Must pass UniFirst’s maintenance knowledge assessment to be eligible for employment.
• Ability to read blueprints and schematics; ability to read maintenance literature in English.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office skills.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose mechanical and electrical problems and determine corrective action by checking blueprints, schematics, repair manuals and parts catalogs.
• Inspect, operate, and test machinery and equipment to diagnose malfunctions.
• Perform basic welding to repair facilities and equipment.
• Troubleshoot and repair PLCs and associated control systems.
• Perform and assign all preventive maintenance on facility and production assets.
• Follow blueprints, schematics, and manuals using a documented schedule.
• Perform boiler chemical and wastewater system testing and adjust chemicals as required.
• Manage and assign all equipment maintenance, including after-hours work.
• Oversee safety within the maintenance department and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Train and develop maintenance staff.
