Job summary

Meijer is seeking a facilities maintenance supervisor to lead a team of technicians and maintenance specialists within the Meijer facility. You will provide equipment expertise and guide operations across building, mechanical, and material handling systems to sustain continuous operations.

You will oversee safety, scheduling, budgeting, and a rotating shift, ensuring compliance with all regulations while coaching staff to improve KPIs and plant performance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree preferred.
• 1-3 years leadership experience; 3-5 years preferred.
• Ability to operate powered lift equipment and maintain Meijer equipment operator license.
• Ability to read/sketch blueprints, shop drawings and electrical schematics.
• Experience with ammonia refrigeration systems beneficial.
• Familiarity with office technology tools (Outlook, MIDS, PLEX, mainframe).
• Knowledge of industrial motors and motor controls.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to prioritize, follow-through and meet production goals.
• Flexibility to work a rotating schedule.
• Knowledge of Safety, Sanitation and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

• Lead and assist with hiring the site maintenance team to ensure continuous operations.
• Make work assignments and promote teamwork and accountability.
• Coach team members and administer discipline as required.
• Oversee preventive and corrective maintenance and repairs to maintain operations.
• Record coaching and disciplinary actions as necessary.
• Work to improve plant KPIs and operational metrics.
• Maintain refrigeration systems and handle refrigerants as needed.
• Ensure compliance with safety, sanitation and regulatory requirements.
• Assist with budgeting and cost management for the department.
