Job summary

Greystar seeks a Maintenance Technician to oversee and perform technical and mechanical work ensuring buildings, grounds, amenities, and common areas meet Greystar standards for cleanliness, safety and functionality.

The role includes making repairs, preparing units for leasing, coordinating vendors, maintaining inventory, and performing preventative maintenance per policy. A strong focus on customer service and safety is essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma, GED, or related experience and training.
• Experience in property management maintenance, other building maintenance, or related trade.
• Incumbents must provide own hand tools and be skilled in safe use of hand tools, power tools, and measuring devices.
• Ability to apply logical thinking to define and correct problems.
• Proficiency in customer service and interpersonal communication to interact with residents and team members.
• Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively for company support contacts.
• Proficiency in internet, word processing, spreadsheet, and database management; PM system experience preferred.
• Mathematical skills to handle numbers and documents.

Responsibilities

• Assists and completes work orders from resident requests and routine upkeep by diagnosing defects and making repairs.
• Oversees the make-ready process to prepare vacant apartments for leasing and move-ins, including inspections and vendor coordination.
• Develops standards for cleanliness and appearance of grounds, amenities, and buildings to reflect Greystar quality.
• Inspects work by service team members to ensure policy and procedure compliance and implement corrective actions.
• Inspects work by contractors to verify quality and compliance with specifications.
• Maintains inventory and coordinates supplies with Community Manager within budget guidelines.
• Performs monthly preventative maintenance as outlined in policy and procedure.
