Job summary

Valmont Industries in Elkhart, IN seeks a Maintenance Supervisor to lead a 24/7 plant maintenance team, oversee safety, and optimize equipment reliability. You will collaborate with engineers, managers, and contractors to implement upgrades and preventive maintenance.

The role requires an associate or technical degree in industrial maintenance with leadership experience, travel up to 5%, and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• Associates Degree or Technical Degree in Industrial Maintenance or related field with a minimum of four years relevant experience.
• Two years of previous work experience in a leadership role.
• The ability to travel as needed (Up to 5 percent travel may be required).
• Basic understanding of engineering knowledge and ability to understand engineering drawings.
• Demonstrated strong communication (verbal and written), interpersonal and organizational skills.
• Ability to interact with all levels of the organization.
• Excellent computer skills in Microsoft programs (Word, Excel, Outlook, Microsoft Project or similar).
• Demonstrated ability to use independent judgement and discretion requiring minimum supervision.
• Excellent understanding of manufacturing/facility equipment operations.
• Understanding of OSHA standards for General Industry.
• Self-starter with ability to work independently or as part of a team.
• Must be a person of passion and integrity who has the drive to excel and deliver exceptional results.

Responsibilities

• Maintain accurate files in compliance with OSHA and EPA standards.
• Administer the preventive maintenance program for all production equipment.
• Organizes and controls the use of maintenance resources to improve costs and reliability.
• Instills an orientation for safety, environmental compliance and quality service.
• Manages and controls the use of outside contractors/services to supplement in-house resources.
• Selects and implements maintenance systems, programs and controls to manage resources and monitor effectiveness.
• Works with Engineers, Managers, Supervisors, and contractors on equipment upgrade/replacement projects.
• Selects and schedules training to upgrade the skill and proficiency of personnel.
• Maintains harmonious relationships with staff and promotes continuous improvement.
