Job description

A private family is seeking an experienced, highly skilled Maintenance Specialist / Carpenter / Handyman to serve as a true right hand to the estate manager at a private residence in Westchester County!

This is a higher-level, trades-oriented role supporting the ongoing maintenance and improvement of the residence and surrounding property. The ideal candidate will bring hands-on expertise across multiple construction and building systems, managing both routine repairs and custom projects with precision and professionalism. Takes pride in delivering high-quality workmanship across a wide range of projects and maintenance responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• General carpentry, including drywall cutting and patching.
• Painting and finish work.
• HVAC systems maintenance.
• Small electrical and wiring projects.
• Plumbing diagnostics and maintenance.
• Specialty projects and troubleshooting across building systems.
• General property upkeep and preventative maintenance.
• Supporting renovations and ongoing development projects.
• Assisting with groundskeeping as needed.
• Working closely with the estate manager as a true right hand across day-to-day and project-based needs.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience as a skilled tradesperson across any combination of carpentry, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and/or general construction.
• Expert knowledge of building systems, tools, materials, and safety practices.
• Proactive, hands-on approach to identifying and solving maintenance needs with creative, effective solutions.
• Detail-oriented and organized, able to juggle multiple competing priorities.
• Physically capable of lifting, climbing, and performing demanding manual labor.
• Professional demeanor with strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with staff and vendors.
• Valid driver's license
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) fluency is a significant plus.

Schedule

Full-time Onsite, M-F

Compensation

$125,000 to $150,000K DOE + comprehensive benefits package.
