Job summary

Penske is seeking a Customer Service Coordinator at our Montgomery, NY facility to schedule preventive maintenance, coordinate outside repairs, and manage the shop work plan. You will align customer needs with parts, technicians, and schedules to maximize service quality.

The role emphasizes strong customer communication, vendor coordination, and adherence to Penske safety policies. A mix of administrative and hands-on duties supports our Transportation Solutions operation.

Qualifications

• 2 years of customer service experience required.
• At least 1 year of hands on mechanical experience required.
• 2 years of supervisory experience preferred.
• At least 2 years of service department administration preferred.
• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Associates Degree, Technical School Degree, or Bachelors Degree preferred.
• ASE certification preferred.
• Prior experience with service scheduling programs and diagnostic programs preferred.
• Must understand and comply with Penske instructions and safety policies (DOT, OSHA).
• Regular, predictable attendance is essential.
• Willingness to travel, work at location, and pass background and drug screening required.

Responsibilities

• Develop daily and weekly workforce plans based on customer needs, estimated repairs, parts availability, technician skill sets and work hours to maximize customer service and productivity.
• Communicate with customers for maintenance updates, schedule changes, billing concerns, or service issues.
• Maintain Penske Rental units and ensure parts are available for scheduled work.
• Coordinate with vendors for outside work and ensure adherence to schedule.
• Provide customer service to ensure satisfaction and repeat business.
• Optimize shop productivity by refining the work plan.
• Coordinate with district billing clerks as necessary.
• Perform other projects and tasks as assigned by supervisor.
