Job summary

Metallus in Eaton, OH is offering a full-time summer internship for 2027 with hands-on maintenance analytics. You will join the Maintenance team to analyze equipment failures, support PM/PdM programs, and help improve reliability.

You will collect data for the CMMS MaintainX, review instructions, and work with operations to drive downtime reductions. Preferred majors: Electrical or Mechanical Engineering; 2D/3D drawing tools knowledge is a plus.

Qualifications

• Minimum cumulative GPA 2.5.
• Must have completed 30 or more credit hours by the end of spring 2027 semester.
• Must be a full‑time student attending an accredited two‑year or four‑year college/university.
• Preferred majors: Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related.
• Familiar with 2D and 3D Drawing – AutoCAD/Inventor or similar.
• Familiar with 5S / lean six sigma / lean manufacturing.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Maintenance department in analyzing equipment failures and identifying root causes.
• Support preventive and predictive maintenance programs (PM/PdM), including data collection and tracking.
• Review and update maintenance work instructions, and equipment records.
• Analyze downtime data to identify trends and improvement opportunities.
• Participate in equipment inspections and condition monitoring activities.
• Collaborate with maintenance and operations teams to improve equipment performance and reliability.
• Help maintain and improve data accuracy within the CMMS (MaintainX).
