Job summary

Metallus in Canton, OH invites you to join our Tube Mill Maintenance Engineering Intern program for Summer 2027. You will work closely with Maintenance Planners, Operations, Engineering, and Reliability Engineers to support continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

• Minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5.
• Must have completed 30 or more credit hours by the end of the spring 2027 semester.
• Must be a full-time student attending an accredited two-year or four-year college/university.
• Preferred major: Electrical Engineering or related.

Responsibilities

• Work closely with Maintenance Planners/Schedulers, Operations, Engineering, and Reliability Engineers to support continuous improvement initiatives across Tube Making operations.
• Assist with identifying, tracking, and implementing equipment and process improvement opportunities that enhance reliability, safety, and productivity.
• Support the review and submission of drawing updates to ensure technical documents accurately reflect equipment modifications and current operating conditions.
• Assist with spare parts management by tracking critical asset components, researching parts requirements, and helping resolve inventory or availability issues.
• Participate in the development of maintenance work packages and scopes of work for projects and services that will be bid through external vendors.
• Analyze maintenance and equipment data to help identify reliability trends and support predictive and preventive maintenance efforts.
• Work as part of a cross-functional, team-driven environment, collaborating with maintenance, operations, engineering, and contractors to execute projects and achieve business objectives.

Internship Assignment: Full Time – Summer 2027
