Job summary

Metallus in Eaton, Ohio, invites eager engineering students for a full-time summer internship in 2027. You will assist engineers with daily production and maintenance support, troubleshoot equipment and analyze data to drive improvements.

The program emphasizes hands-on experience, real-world projects, and career readiness workshops. Preferred majors include Industrial, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering, with PLC/robotics exposure and AutoCAD/CAM skills.

Qualifications

Minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5.
Must have completed 30+ credit hours by end of spring 2027.
Must be a full-time student at an accredited college/university.
Preferred majors: Industrial, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering.
Experience with PLC Controls, Robotics, or automation.

Responsibilities

Assist engineers with day-to-day technical support for production and maintenance activities.
Support troubleshooting of equipment and process issues to minimize downtime.
Collect and analyze operational data to identify trends and improvement opportunities.
Assist in developing and updating work instructions.
Participate in process improvement and cost-reduction initiatives.
Support small capital or continuous improvement projects, including design, planning, and execution.
Work cross-functionally with operations, maintenance, and quality teams.
Create and update technical documentation, drawings, and reports.
Lead a process or equipment improvement project focused on increasing efficiency, reducing downtime, or improving product quality.
