Job summary

Metallus in Canton, OH is offering a Maintenance Engineering & Reliability Intern role for Summer 2027. This internship provides real work experience, mentorship, and career readiness workshops while you support equipment design and reliability tasks.

You will assist with design changes, draw up equipment drawings, analyze failures to find root causes, and learn the steelmaking process in a collaborative, casual environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5.
• Must have completed 30 or more credit hours by end of Spring 2027.
• Must be a full‑time student attending an accredited two‑year or four‑year college/university.
• Preferred majors: Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering or related.
• Familiar with AutoCAD.

Responsibilities

• Assist with equipment design changes.
• Create and revise equipment drawings.
• Review functional failures on equipment to determine root cause.
• Review preventative maintenance tasks.
• Aid in job plan creation.
• Gain basic understanding of steel making process.
