Job summary

Metallus Inc. invites you to join our Internship Program for Summer 2027, gaining real work experience in a team environment while preparing for future leadership roles.

You will assist the Maintenance department, analyze failures, and support PM/PdM data collection to drive improvements. Qualifications

• Minimum GPA 2.5.
• Must have completed 30+ credit hours by Spring 2027.
• Must be a full-time student at an accredited two- or four-year college/university.
• Preferred majors: Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.
• Microsoft Office experience.
• Familiar with 2D/3D drawing – AutoCAD/Inventor or similar.
• Familiar with 5S / lean six sigma / lean manufacturing.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Maintenance department in analyzing equipment failures and identifying root causes.
• Support preventive and predictive maintenance programs (PM/PdM), including data collection and tracking.
• Review and update maintenance work instructions, and equipment records.
• Analyze downtime data to identify trends and improvement opportunities.
• Participate in equipment inspections and condition monitoring activities.
• Collaborate with maintenance and operations teams to improve equipment performance and reliability.
• Help maintain and improve data accuracy within the CMMS (MaintainX).
• Project-MTBF rate improvement project.

• Familiar with 2D and 3D Drawing – AutoCAD/Inventor or similar
• Familiar with 5S / lean six sigma / lean manufacturing
