The Bachrach Group in New York is seeking four temporary Facilities/Maintenance Staff for its New York office for about 3–4 months to support the relocation and day-to-day operations.

You will perform cleaning, basic maintenance, move furniture, handle work orders, and coordinate with various teams. The role requires reliability, professionalism, and the ability to work on-site with occasional flexible hours.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum 3 years in a corporate or professional office environment.
  • Experience in facilities, porter, maintenance, or building services preferred.
  • Strong communication and reliability.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and use basic hand tools.

Responsibilities

  • Perform general office cleaning and upkeep.
  • Replace light bulbs and perform minor repairs.
  • Move furniture, equipment, files and materials throughout the facility.
  • Assist with office setup, breakdown and relocation.
  • Handle work orders and tickets using mobile device or computer.
  • Support the Facilities team with the upcoming move.
  • Coordinate with facilities management, employees, vendors and building personnel.
  • Follow quality, safety, and workplace standards.
  • Report maintenance issues to management.
  • Perform other facilities duties as assigned.

Position Overview

A leading professional services firm is seeking four temporary Facilities / Maintenance Staff members to support its New York office for approximately 3–4 months.

The company is preparing for an upcoming office relocation and is looking for dependable, polished, and hands‑on individuals to help maintain day‑to‑day office operations while also assisting with the transition to the firm's new location.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with experience working in a corporate, legal, financial, real estate, or other professional office environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform general office cleaning and upkeep, including dusting, mopping, and collecting refuse and recycling
  • Complete basic maintenance tasks, including replacing light bulbs and performing minor repairs
  • Move furniture, equipment, files, and office materials throughout the facility
  • Assist with office setup, breakdown, and relocation activities
  • Handle work orders and tickets using a mobile device or computer
  • Support the Facilities team with the upcoming office move
  • Work closely with Facilities management, employees, vendors, and other building personnel
  • Follow established quality, safety, and workplace standards
  • Report maintenance or facility‑related issues to management
  • Perform other facilities‑related duties as assigned
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a comparable corporate, commercial, or professional office environment
  • Facilities, porter, maintenance, building services, or office operations experience preferred
  • Professional, polished, and articulate communication skills
  • Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently
  • Ability to follow verbal and written instructions and meet deadlines
  • Comfortable using basic hand tools and working on a ladder
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and safely move furniture, equipment, and office materials
  • Strong attention to detail and a service‑oriented approach
  • Comfortable interacting with employees, visitors, vendors, and management
  • Flexible to work occasional early/late hours, weekends, holidays, or off‑site assignments as needed
Ideal Background

The ideal candidate will have experience working in a professional corporate environment, particularly within legal, financial services, real estate, commercial office, or similar settings. Candidates should be comfortable working around executives, clients, visitors, and other professionals and should present themselves in a polished and professional manner.

  • Temporary assignment: Approximately 3–4 months
  • Reason for assignment: Support day‑to‑day Facilities operations and assist with an upcoming office relocation
  • Pay: $22–$28/hour, based on experience
  • Schedule: Primarily Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–4:00 PM
  • Flexibility: Candidates must be willing to accommodate occasional schedule changes, weekend/holiday work, and off‑site support when required
  • Interview Process: Approximately 10-minute Zoom interview followed by a 20-minute on‑site interview
