Job summary

NRG Energy is seeking a Maintenance Manager to supervise and coach a productive maintenance workforce, ensuring compliance with company standards and safe, efficient operations. Responsibilities include work planning, training, outage coordination, and procurement from vendors and contractors.

The role requires leading outage planning, resource allocation, and performance improvement across Maintenance, Engineering and Operations, with a strong emphasis on safety and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 10 years of power plant operations or maintenance experience or Baccalaureate degree in an Engineering, Business, or related discipline from an accredited college or university, and 7 years of equivalent experience in a related field.
• Experience leading/supervising employees in a related field.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership and emphasize safety and environmental programs by monitoring safety concerns and incident actions.
• Serve on plant leadership team and act as temporary plant manager or operations manager as needed.
• Represent plant as Outage Authority and process SME in support of corporate activities and initiatives.
• Coordinate the development and use of work scope packages for outage activities and related pre/post outage tasks.
• Oversee the development of work order plan packages including labor, material, equipment, and QA requirements.
• Lead outage resource and performance strategies to efficiently perform outage work.
• Oversee plans, schedules and budgets for all planned, maintenance, and forced outage work.
• Lead day-to-day performance and coordination of outage work including resource allocation and scheduling.
• Oversee selection and use of contractors and vendors to perform outage work per policy.
• Ensure outage controls, performance reporting, communications, and plan revisions are effective.
• Promote productivity and teamwork with strong leadership and timely decision-making.
• Develop and manage outage work order lists to support planning and execution.
• Support development of technical, leadership, and business skills among employees.
