Job summary

RRD is seeking a skilled maintenance technician for the 1st shift to maintain and repair production equipment in our Illinois facility. You will troubleshoot electrical and mechanical faults, perform preventive maintenance, and work with die cutters, presses, inserters, and conveyors in a fast-paced environment.

You must have hands-on experience with bindery and press equipment, read schematics, and fabricate parts when needed.

Qualifications

• Must have expertise in maintaining and repairing complex production equipment.
• Advanced knowledge to trace malfunctions and distinguish mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic vs electrical faults.
• Precise adjustments for alignment, parallelism and concentricity.
• Precise measurements of air and fluid pressure and flow and related calculations.
• Ability to read multiview drawings, wiring diagrams and specs to isolate malfunctions.
• Knowledge of fabrication/assembly for replacement parts with complex configurations.
• Geometry and shop math to calculate angles, clearances, fits, and flow parameters.
• Bindery press experience is required.
• Experience with hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring instruments.
• Lean methodologies training and mentoring responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Maintain organization's production equipment.
• Troubleshoot electrical and mechanical faults and repair equipment.
• Repair and maintain machinery per diagrams and manuals (die cutters, presses, inserters, folders, conveyors).
• Fabricate or reproduce parts using welders, lathes, milling machines, drill presses and shop tooling.
• Bindery press experience is required.
