Job summary

Vulcan Elements Inc. is hiring a Maintenance Manager to build and lead the area maintenance organization, establish trade coverage, coordinate planned and unplanned maintenance, and ensure technicians troubleshoot, repair, inspect, and maintain equipment from commissioning through steady-state production.

Qualifications

• 8+ years industrial maintenance experience in manufacturing or equipment-intensive environments.
• 3+ years leading maintenance technicians or crafts teams.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and automated production equipment.

Responsibilities

• Lead maintenance craft and trades team for assigned areas, including staffing, shift coverage, and floor leadership.
• Recruit, onboard, qualify, and develop skilled trades personnel and technicians.
• Establish qualification matrices, cross-training plans and competency standards for safe, independent maintenance execution.
• Coach frontline supervisors and technicians on workmanship, troubleshooting, and cross-functional coordination with operations and engineering.
• Own maintenance execution for production areas, prioritizing planned, corrective and emergent work safely and efficiently.
• Coordinate priorities with Operations, Planning, Reliability, Engineering and Production leadership.
• Ensure rapid diagnosis and safe return to service after breakdowns; deploy appropriate trades and resources.
• Balance preventive, predictive, corrective, and improvement work to control backlog and protect equipment availability.
