Job summary

Bozzuto is seeking a Maintenance Manager to lead maintenance operations at our residential communities in Newark, NJ. The role focuses on coaching technicians, ensuring preventive maintenance, and delivering timely service to residents while upholding safety and regulatory standards.

You will manage capital projects, vendor relationships, and 24/7 emergency coverage, with a strong emphasis on reliability and resident satisfaction.

Qualifications

• An education in the trades and 7+ years of experience in facilities and/or residential building maintenance.
• HVAC, EPA and/or NAPE certification is required.
• Knowledge of risk management, OSHA and MSDS.
• Advanced level of skill in HVAC, plumbing, electrical and appliance repair.
• Basic carpentry, drywall and painting skills.
• Exposure to complex mechanical systems such as central plant, split systems, boilers and chillers.
• Availability for emergency situations at the property, including an on-call rotation.

Responsibilities

• Leading by example and being a role model for the standards and behaviors consistent with Bozzuto's core values and culture.
• Hiring, developing and providing on-the-job and classroom education opportunities to techs and community care associates
• Resolving maintenance issues in HVAC, electrical, plumbing and appliance repair
• Managing make-ready and apartment turnover processes to support leasing
• Executing preventative maintenance programs to preserve building value
• Overseeing safety, codes compliance and on-call coverage
