Job Title: Maintenance Manager
Location: Montgomery, AL
Summary of Job Purpose
Directs and coordinates activities of workers engaged in repair, maintenance, and installation of machines, tools, and equipment, as well as maintenance of buildings, grounds, and utility systems in a mill, industrial plant, or other establishment.
Education and Experience
- Two-year technical degree in industrial maintenance
- 10+ years of work experience in an aluminum extrusion facility
- Minimum five (5) years of experience as a maintenance manager in a heavy manufacturing facility
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Lead and train maintenance staff in troubleshooting and repair of production equipment
- Implement Predictive and Preventative Maintenance Programs
- Communicate daily status of machine downtime and repair activities
- Coordinate with production and quality departments on equipment issues
- Lead root cause analysis and corrective actions for equipment failures
- Ensure accurate use of the computer maintenance management system (CMMS)
- Order equipment, materials, and supplies
- Schedule and oversee training for maintenance technicians
- Prepare and monitor the department budget
- Evaluate and resolve problems, allocate resources, and make effective decisions

- Perform tasks safely, prioritizing safety
- Report unsafe conditions immediately
Specialized Skills Needed
- Experience in continuous improvement in heavy manufacturing
- Knowledge of the aluminum extrusion process
- Strong mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical troubleshooting skills
- Proficiency with hydraulic, mechanical, electrical systems, and PLCs (RSLogix 5, 500, 5000, Studio 5000)
- Organizational and multitasking skills
- Analytical skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
- Leadership and communication skills
- Knowledge of industrial safety standards and solutions
- Understanding of budgets and operational planning
