Job Purpose
Maintenance Manager is a hands-on position leading maintenance-related activities for all machines and supervising/assigning tasks to a team of maintenance hourly technicians during non-working hours.
Job Responsibilities
- Manage the maintenance budget, including reviewing reports and maintaining expenditure records.
- Utilize systems like KIWI to track maintenance KPIs such as downtime, reliability, and breakdowns.
- Manage work order systems, track progress, and report efficiency metrics.
- Conduct weekly maintenance and production meetings to prioritize projects.
- Plan maintenance projects, schedule personnel, manage budgets, and ensure parts availability.
- Coordinate predictive and preventive maintenance activities with the local leadership team.
- Lead Environmental, Health & Safety initiatives to ensure compliance.
- Oversee inventory and parts management, including procurement and storage organization.
- Manage vendor relationships and routine service contractors.
- Determine material needs, research options, and manage purchasing activities.
- Track repair and project costs using SAP or other systems, reporting regularly to management.
- Utilize internal maintenance resources effectively before sourcing external services.
- Analyze high-cost maintenance areas and implement cost-reduction solutions.
- Plan routine and preventative maintenance tasks.
- Maintain organized technical documentation and manuals in the Maintenance Office.
- Perform other duties as assigned by leadership.
Education & Work Experience
- No formal education preference; high school diploma or GED required, college/technical courses preferred.
- Knowledge of servo motors, PLC, AC/DC drives, and systems required.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Leadership and supervisory experience required.
- Mechanical, electrical, or maintenance troubleshooting experience required; corrugated industry experience preferred.
- Experience with predictive/preventative maintenance, inventory, and project planning highly desirable.
- Strong communication, multitasking, and prioritization skills required.
- Willingness to work weekends and off-shifts.
