Job summary

Wabash is seeking a Maintenance Technician II Coordinator in Lafayette, IN to support the Maintenance Supervisor in achieving departmental goals and managing line calls, PMs, and budgets. You will work with SAP PM to handle work orders and coordinate resources for planned maintenance and repairs, with a focus on minimizing downtime.

The role requires 1–3 years of related experience, strong mechanical/electrical troubleshooting, and the ability to plan schedules.

Qualifications

• Must pass a pre-employment drug screen.
• 1–3 years of relevant maintenance experience.
• Experience with SAP and SAP PM (Plant Maintenance).
• Ability to plan job schedules and processes.
• Knowledge of 480-volt AC/DC motor controls.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Strong mechanical, electrical, and troubleshooting abilities.

Responsibilities

• Support Maintenance Supervisor in meeting department goals including line call management, PM completion, budget stewardship, and project execution.
• Coordinate maintenance resources considering safety, quality, and productivity.
• Create, update, and close out work orders in SAP PM.
• Determine manpower required for planned work with Maintenance Supervisor.
• Prepare for planned/shutdown work and follow up on plans for completeness.
• Request quotes and generate purchase requisitions for materials for work orders.
• Print and organize PMs for Maintenance Technicians.
• Review completed PMs and generate follow-up work orders.
• Review shift notes and complete follow-ups.
• Identify and communicate turnover work.
• Minimize equipment downtime and provide prompt response times.
• Complete planned maintenance and repairs of production equipment.
• Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical systems.
• Perform minor electrical tasks (sensors, fuses, breakers).
• Follow safety policies and Wabash Leadership Principles and Values.
• Work on projects individually and with cross-functional teams.
• The role may require 8, 10, or 12 hour shifts and mandatory overtime including weekends.
• Assignments in the Duraplate division may require 12-hour shifts across scheduling options.
