Job description

About the Role:

The Maintenance Supervisor will oversee skilled‑hourly employees in a manufacturing environment while maintaining a strong, hands‑on presence on the production floor. This role plans and assigns work, enforces policies and procedures, and actively supports complex troubleshooting and problem resolution to quickly restore equipment to operational status. Responsible for the scheduling and continuous improvement of preventive and predictive maintenance systems to support efficient manufacturing operations, including enhancing system effectiveness, tracking, and execution. Will supervise 7‑8 employees.

Your Responsibilities:
  • Provides employee coaching and development and resolves employee issues through problem resolution
  • Evaluates and improves maintenance performance by reducing downtime through proactive problem solving, including direct involvement in complex equipment issues when needed
  • Balances safety, quality, productivity, cost, and morale to achieve positive results in all areas
  • Drives continuous improvement across maintenance systems, processes, and equipment reliability with a focus on proactive issue prevention
  • Manages and sustains proper WPO to ensure safe and efficient operations
  • Exhibits flexibility to accommodate continuous improvement initiatives for internal customers
  • Manages departmental performance measures, including visual controls and provides regular progress reports to manager
  • Other duties as assigned
  • Maintains an active floor presence and provides hands‑on support for advanced troubleshooting and critical equipment failures to ensure timely restoration of operations
  • Owns the effectiveness of the preventive and predictive maintenance program, including improving PM quality, standardization, and compliance
  • Enhances maintenance systems and tools to improve tracking, reporting, and overall PM execution effectiveness
Your Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree preferred
  • Working knowledge of: Hydraulic and pneumatic systems, press maintenance, overhead hoist systems, industrial controls, 3 phase 480 voltage circuits
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Kronos, and SAP (preferred)
  • 2 to 5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Must have experience using tools of lean manufacturing
  • Must be a good communicator (verbal and written)
  • Must be critical thinker, enthusiastic and have positive approach towards employees
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Project management is beneficial
  • Preferred – Electrical certification, hydraulic certification, and experience with "Predictive Maintenance" Methods
  • Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex equipment issues in a manufacturing environment
  • Experience developing or improving preventive maintenance systems, with focus on effectiveness and tracking
