Job summary

Wabash is seeking a Maintenance Technician I to support production by reducing downtime and performing planned maintenance on equipment in Lafayette, Indiana. The role requires hands-on skills across mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical systems and involves working overtime on some shifts.

You will troubleshoot issues, operate tools such as voltmeter, wrenches, calipers, and ladders, and collaborate across teams to ensure safe, reliable operation.

Qualifications

• Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen.
• Basic reading, writing, & verbal skills.
• Prior experience with Mechanical, Pneumatic, Hydraulic, and Electrical (24DC, 120/277/480AC) systems.
• Ability to work on projects individually and cross functionally.
• Capable of rapid response and safety-conscious during the process.
• Good mechanical aptitude and ability to take precise measurements with tools.

Responsibilities

• Assist production by minimizing equipment downtime and responding promptly.
• Complete planned maintenance and repairs on production equipment.
• Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical systems.
• Perform minor tasks on electrical components (sensors, fuses, breakers, etc.).
• Follow safety policies and uphold Wabash's Leadership Principles and Values.
• Work 8 hours/day with mandatory overtime and weekends; hours vary by shift.
