Job summary

Encore Talent Solutions seeks a Maintenance Technical Support Specialist to support maintenance planning and procedures in a power plant-like industrial setting. The role requires strong technical knowledge of power plant equipment and instruments, with experience in predictive maintenance methods and cross-team collaboration to optimize maintenance

Qualifications

• 4+ years of experience in Maintenance or related Engineering in power plant, industrial process, or military service.
• Strong commitment to safe work practices.
• Technical background in power plant equipment, systems, and instrumentation control.
• Experience with predictive maintenance: thermography, vibration analysis, ultrasound, tribology.
• Knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation maintenance procedures.
• Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently.
• Understanding of maintenance management processes.
• Effective communication across supervisors, peers, and subordinates.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a safe work environment and enforce safety rules across job sites.
• Coordinate with supervisors and engineering to develop repair strategies and schedules.
• Develop and submit budget requests for maintenance and capital improvements.
• Forecast department expenses monthly to stay within budget.
• Respond to emergency calls beyond normal schedule.
• Train and evaluate staff in proper tools use and safe practices.
• Monitor equipment and diagnose abnormal operating conditions for timely repairs.

Job description

Encore Talent Solutions is currently seeking a Maintenance Technical Support Specialist for a position located in Wheatfield, IN.

Responsibilities:

Maintenance Technical Support, Planning, and Procedure Development. They will be working with the current Maintenance Supervisor to develop process and procedures, plan work, and answer technical questions.

Essential Functions

• Maintains a safe work environment. Inspects job sites and reviews maintenance procedures for hazards. Conducts pre-job safety briefs for all assigned work. Informs employees of safety rules and regulations and consistently enforces them.
• Places high priority on environmental equipment and systems maintenance to assure compliance with environmental permits and procedures. Emphasizes the commitment to performing all work in compliance with environmental procedures with crafts and contractors.
• Coordinate with the Operations Superintendent, Engineering, and Plant Manager to develop effective repair strategies and maintenance schedules.
• Informs employees of work performance standards and expectations.
• Develop budget requests for plant equipment and systems maintenance and capital improvements. Submit initiatives that define the project purpose, scope, estimated cost and benefits. Follow through with implementation of approved projects.
• Control and track department expenses to operate within budget. Forecast expenses on a Monthly basis.
• Responds to emergency calls outside of his or her normal work schedule on a regular basis.
• Trains and evaluates employees in the proper use of tools, machinery, maintenance procedures and practices, and safe work practices.
• Assist operating departments in monitoring equipment and troubleshooting abnormal operating conditions. Determine the appropriate maintenance scope and timing of repairs.

• Understands and committed to maintaining safe work practices.
• Strong technical background and understanding of Power Plant equipment and systems and operations with instrument and control background.
• Ability to utilize predictive maintenance techniques such as thermography, vibration analysis, ultrasound, and tribology.
• Working knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and/or instrumentation maintenance procedures and work practices.
• Able to effectively manage several projects at one time.
• Understanding of the elements of the maintenance management process.
• Able to effectively communicate through a variety of media with supervisors, peers, and subordinates.
• Familiar with other maintenance disciplines and understands relationship between equipment mechanical, electrical and controls.

Preferred Additional Qualifications for Position

• Experience or formal training in Power Plant operating departments, project management, and maintenance management practices.
