Job summary

Randstad USA in San Fernando, CA is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic Level III to lead technical operations on our liquid processing lines. You will troubleshoot, repair, and optimize equipment from spray dryers to pumps, mentor junior technicians, and drive reliability initiatives.

This hands-on role requires 5 years in industrial maintenance, strong hydraulics and electrical skills, and the ability to work all shifts.

Qualifications

• 5 years of industrial maintenance experience
• Strong hydraulics, electrical, plumbing, and precision mechanical alignment
• Active CA Driver’s License; able to work all shifts and respond to emergencies

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, repair, and optimize liquid processing equipment (homogenizers, pasteurizers, decanters, spray dryers, pumps, valves)
• Maintain plant utilities (hydraulics, HVAC/refrigeration, air compressors, water treatment, electrical setups)
• Mentor lower-level mechanics and lead technical teams during major projects
• Perform light welding, fabrication, and rigging; operate lifting gear safely
• Log work orders and PM tasks in CMMS; manage spare parts inventory
• Ensure GMPs and safety protocols are strictly followed

Lead the Mechanical Pulse of an Industry-Leading Processing Facility

Maintenance Mechanic Level III | San Fernando, CA

Pay: $32.00 – $41.00/hr (DOE)

Shift: All Shifts Available (1st, 2nd, & 3rd Shift Options)

We are a premier liquid processing, flavor, and beverage ingredient manufacturer looking for an expert Maintenance Mechanic Level III to serve as a technical lead for our production systems. From spray dryers and pasteurizers to complex utility setups, you will keep our specialized processing lines running smoothly while mentoring junior technicians.

Core Responsibilities

• Specialized Processing Maintenance: Troubleshoot, repair, and optimize liquid processing equipment, including homogenizers, plate/frame pasteurizers, decanters, spray dryers, pumps, and valves.
• Plant Utility Management: Maintain plant utilities, including hydraulics, HVAC/refrigeration, air compressors, water treatment systems, and facility electrical setups.
• Technical Leadership: Act as a subject matter expert; mentor lower-level mechanics and lead technical teams during major equipment installations or overhauls.
• Fabrication & Rigging: Perform light welding, equipment fabrication, and structural repairs; safely operate heavy lifting tools and rigging gear.
• CMMS & Supply Chain: Log work orders and PM tasks in the CMMS; order maintenance materials and repair parts to maintain inventory.
• Safety & Compliance: Ensure all operations strictly comply with safety protocols and food manufacturing Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs).

Qualifications

• Experience: Deep hands‑on expertise in industrial maintenance with advanced skills in hydraulics, electrical, plumbing, and precision mechanical alignment.
• Fabrication Skills: Proficient with power tools (grinders, pipe threaders) and light welding/fabrication abilities.
• Physical Requirements: Able to lift up to 50 lbs frequently, perform vigorous trade work, and furnish a standard set of hand tools.
• Credentials & Schedule: Active Class C CA Driver’s License; flexible across all shifts (1st, 2nd, or 3rd) with ability to respond to occasional emergency after‑hours call‑ins.

• Facilities Upkeep: Perform multi‑craft trade repairs (plumbing, carpentry, electrical) to keep production areas, buildings, and surrounding grounds safe and operational.
• Safety & Regulatory Compliance: Perform all duties in strict compliance with company safety protocols, emergency procedures, and food manufacturing Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs).
