Job summary

City of DeLand is seeking a Maintenance Worker I to support the Right of Way Mowing Crew. The role involves semi-skilled, outdoor work under supervision, operating light vehicles and lawn equipment in all weather conditions.

The ideal candidate will have experience with mowing, edging, and general grounds maintenance; a valid Florida driver’s license; and the ability to read and follow written instructions. This is a full-time, 40-hour-per-week position with a pay rate of $16.75 per hour.

Qualifications

• Experience with irrigation and tree trimming/grounds cleanup is desired.
• Equivalent combination of education, experience and training may be considered as minimum requirements.
• Ability to communicate verbally and in writing.

Responsibilities

• Performs yard maintenance such as cutting grass, edging, weeding, laying sod, spreading grass seed and fertilizing.
• Maintain Right of Ways
• Other duties as assigned.
