Job summary

City of DeLand is seeking a Maintenance Worker I in Public Works - Trees to perform semi-skilled manual tasks under supervision. Responsibilities include tree pruning, removal, planting, brush chipping, and operating light trucks and equipment, in various weather conditions.

Qualifications include a high school diploma or GED, tree pruning experience, valid Florida driver's license, and MOT/EHAP certifications.

Qualifications

• Requires ability to perform each essential duty with supervision.
• High school diploma or GED preferred; equivalent combinations considered.
• Tree pruning/grounds cleanup experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform tree pruning, removal and planting tasks.
• Drag, chip brush, handle ropes, and maintain vehicles and equipment.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
