Job summary

Tyson Foods is seeking a General Maintenance technician for the 2nd shift in the United States. You will keep production machinery running and perform setup, adjustments, and breakdowns on line equipment. You will learn Tyson SAP to create work orders and document daily activities.

Applicants must be able to lift 70 lbs, stand for 12 hours, and work overtime as required. A minimum of 1 year in industrial maintenance or related certifications is preferred, with strong teamwork and safety culture.

Qualifications

• Ability to read and write; perform basic math for machinery and capacities.
• Willingness to work overtime and weekends when required.

Job description

• Applicants will be considered for shifts and hours posted.
• Must be available to work overtime and weekends if required.
• General Maintenance positions are responsible for keeping machinery running to maintain continuous production.
• You must be willing to set up, adjust, and break down production line machinery.
• Must be willing to learn Tyson SAP software to make work orders and fill out the daily documentation that is required in the system.
• Must be able to read and write where required.
• Must be able to use math as needed to make work-related computations for machinery, fluid capacities, etc.
• Must be willing and able to lift 70 lbs. with assistance on a daily basis and be able to work on your feet for 12 hours.
• Must be willing to complete all required training for the job.
• Must be able to communicate clearly with Upper Management and team members via phone, in person, and in writing regarding the status of equipment repairs.

Requirements

• Experience/history: a minimum of 1-year Industrial related maintenance experience (listed in the application) and/or technical certifications and working knowledge of electricity, power transmissions, plumbing, hydraulics, pneumatics, welding, cutting, and the use of shop tools.
• Applicants must be able to work with others to adhere to Tyson's safety culture. If an applicant meets the minimum requirements for consideration, they may be contacted for a visit to the facility.
• Prior Employee Waiting Period: If you were previously employed at Tyson, there’s a 180-day waiting period before you can reapply.
• Applicants who have worked for Tyson Foods 3 or more times are not eligible for rehire.
