Job summary

The Commonwealth of Pennsylvania is hiring a Corrections Maintenance Foreman at the State Correctional Institution Phoenix. You will lead inmate work crews through hands-on maintenance tasks across the facility, guiding safety and quality every day.

You will supervise crews, plan daily work, teach equipment safety, manage tools, and support carpentry, plumbing, electrical, and other trades while upholding strict security and discipline standards.

Qualifications

• Four years of experience performing building maintenance, construction, or general trades.
• Equivalent combination of experience and training.
• Successful completion of basic training in Elizabethtown, PA is required.
• Background check and CJIS compliance required.

Responsibilities

• Direct inmate work crews completing routine construction, maintenance, repair, and groundskeeping tasks
• Assign daily schedules, monitor progress, and inspect completed assignments
• Teach safe operation and preventative care for machinery and vehicles
• Issues and track tools and supplies; conduct searches to ensure everything is accounted for
• Assist maintenance staff with skilled and semi-skilled tasks in carpentry, plumbing, electrical, and other trades
• Maintain order, discipline, and accountability during all work activities
