Job summary

Qualifications

• Four years of experience in building maintenance, construction, or general trades work, or an equivalent combination of experience and training.
• Successful completion of basic training in Elizabethtown, PA is required.
• Ability to perform essential job functions.
• Must pass background investigation and meet CJIS compliance requirements.
• Veterans' employment preference is provided per state policy.

Responsibilities

• Crew supervision: direct inmate work crews performing routine construction, maintenance, repair, and groundskeeping tasks.
• Work planning: assign daily schedules, monitor progress, and inspect completed assignments.
• Equipment instruction: teach safe operation and preventative care for machinery and vehicles.
• Tool management: issue and track tools and supplies; conduct searches to ensure everything is accounted for.
• Skilled trades support: assist maintenance staff with carpentry, plumbing, electrical, and other trades.
• Safety oversight: maintain order, discipline, and accountability during all work activities.
