Job summary

Zekelman Industries is seeking a Maintenance Fabricator in Kansas City, MO to support tube mill equipment repair and rebuild. The role emphasizes electrical and mechanical troubleshooting, safety adherence, and continuous improvement within a heavy manufacturing setting.

The successful candidate will handle maintenance tasks, read blueprints, and work with tools to maximize uptime, quality, and yield on the production line.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; apprenticeship or journeyman training preferred.
• Strong mechanical aptitude with familiarity of electrical systems and PLCs.
• Proficiency with hand and power tools, precision measuring devices, and technical drawings.
• Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving in a fast-paced, safety-focused environment.
• Ability to read blueprints and schematics to diagnose and repair equipment.

Responsibilities

• Perform electrical maintenance on equipment following all safety procedures including LOTO.
• Ensure guards and safety equipment are in place before returning equipment to operators.
• Monitor inventory levels of parts, equipment, and supplies; place orders as needed.
• Use maintenance management systems to track, inspect, and report equipment status.
• Read blueprints and diagnose mechanical/electrical issues; repair as needed.
• Perform breakdown repairs, preventive maintenance, and changeovers on production equipment.
• Identify and report safety, quality, or output issues when unable to correct them.
