Job summary

Zekelman Industries is seeking a Maintenance Technician to ensure safe repair and rebuild of tube mill production equipment. The role focuses on maximizing quality, uptime, rate and yield, with a strong electrical aptitude and safety adherence.

You will troubleshoot electrical and mechanical issues and perform preventive maintenance in a heavy manufacturing setting and cooperate with supervisors to resolve issues.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years in a heavy manufacturing environment, maintenance preferred.
• High school diploma or equivalent; apprenticeship/journeyman training preferred.
• Proficient with hand and power tools, precision measuring devices, and interpreting technical drawings.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and familiarity with electrical systems and PLCs.

Responsibilities

• Perform electrical maintenance on equipment following all safety procedures, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO).
• Read and interpret blueprints, manuals and schematics to diagnose and repair equipment.
• Troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, and quality issues; escalate when necessary.
• Perform breakdown repairs, preventive maintenance and changeover tasks on production equipment.
• Operate powered industrial trucks, cranes as required.
