Job summary

Zekelman Industries is seeking a Maintenance Technician to repair and rebuild tube mill production equipment. The role emphasizes electrical troubleshooting, safety compliance, and preventive maintenance in a heavy manufacturing setting.

Qualified candidates have 5+ years in a maintenance role, strong electrical/PLC aptitude, and proficiency with blueprints. The job entails lifting up to 50 pounds, operating cranes, and coordinating with supervisors and teams.

Qualifications

Minimum of 5 years in a heavy manufacturing maintenance role.
HS diploma or equivalent; apprenticeship or journeyman training preferred.
Proficiency with hand/power tools, precision measuring devices, and reading technical drawings.
Strong mechanical aptitude and familiarity with electrical systems and PLCs.
Ability to pass job-related testing, employment physical, and drug screening.

Responsibilities

Perform electrical maintenance on equipment following safety procedures including LOTO.
Ensure guards and safety equipment are in place before returning equipment to operators.
Monitor inventory levels of parts and supplies; place orders and verify receipts.
Read and interpret blueprints, manuals, and schematics to diagnose and repair equipment.
Troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, and quality issues, escalate as needed.
Perform breakdown repairs, preventive maintenance, and changeovers on production equipment.
Maintain a clean and safe work environment in compliance with regulations.
Operate powered industrial trucks, overhead and portable cranes as required.
