Job summary

Atlas Healthcare, LLC is seeking a Maintenance Supervisor to lead the Maintenance Department in our New Jersey facility. The role involves planning, implementing, and evaluating maintenance programs and policies across mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems.

The position requires a minimum of two years in maintenance, nursing home experience, and knowledge of safety standards and codes. Strong blueprint-reading skills and the ability to make independent decisions are essential.

Qualifications

• Two years minimum in a maintenance position.
• Nursing home experience required.
• HVAC certification strongly preferred.
• Knowledge of boilers, compressors, generators, and related mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
• Knowledge of building codes and safety regulations.
• Licensed in accordance with current standards, codes and labor laws.
• Ability to make independent decisions when warranted.

Responsibilities

• Plan, develop, organize, implement, evaluate, and direct the Maintenance Department, its programs and activities.
• Develop and maintain written maintenance policies and procedures.
• Assist the maintenance staff in departmental policies, procedures, equipment and supplies.
• Review policies, manuals and job descriptions annually and make recommendations to the Administrator.
• Coordinate maintenance services with related departments (Dietary, Nursing, Activities).
• Make written or oral reports to the Administrator regarding Maintenance Department operations.
• Assist in establishing a preventive maintenance program.

• Must be knowledgeable of boilers, compressors, generators, etc., as well as various mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems.
• Must have the ability to read and interpret blueprints.
• Must be knowledgeable in building codes and safety regulations.
• Must be licensed in accordance with current applicable standards, codes, labor laws, etc.
• Must possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action.

Responsibilities

• Plan, develop, organize, implement, evaluate, and direct the Maintenance Department, its programs and activities.
• Develop and maintain written maintenance policies and procedures.
• Assist the maintenance staff in the development and use of departmental policies, procedures, equipment, supplies, etc.
• Review the department’s policies, procedure manuals, job descriptions, etc., at least annually for revisions and make recommendations to the Administrator.
• Coordinate maintenance services and activities with other related departments (i.e., Dietary, Nursing, Activities, etc.).
• Make written oral reports/recommendations to the Administrator as necessary/required concerning the operation of the Maintenance Department.
• Assist in establishing a preventive maintenance program.
