Job summary

Atlas Healthcare, LLC is seeking a qualified Maintenance Manager for a nursing home facility in Edison, NJ. The role involves planning, directing, and evaluating the Maintenance Department and coordinating services with dietary, nursing, and activities teams.

The position requires state-appropriate licensing, two years of maintenance experience, nursing home exposure, and knowledge of boilers, electrical, and plumbing systems.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years in a maintenance position
• Nursing home experience required
• HVAC certification strongly preferred
• Knowledge of boilers, compressors, generators, and mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints
• Knowledge of building codes and safety regulations
• Licensed in accordance with current standards and laws
• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English
• Ability to make independent decisions when needed

Responsibilities

• Plan, develop, organize, implement, evaluate, and direct the Maintenance Department, its programs and activities
• Develop and maintain written maintenance policies and procedures
• Assist maintenance staff in developing and using department policies, procedures, equipment, supplies, etc.
• Review department policies, manuals, and job descriptions annually and make recommendations
• Coordinate maintenance services with other departments (Dietary, Nursing, Activities, etc.)
• Make written and oral reports/recommendations to the Administrator as necessary
• Assist in establishing a preventive maintenance program

• HVAC certification strongly preferred.
• Must be knowledgeable of boilers, compressors, generators, etc., as well as various mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems.
• Must have the ability to read and interpret blueprints.
• Must be knowledgeable in building codes and safety regulations.
• Must be licensed in accordance with current applicable standards, codes, labor laws, etc.
• Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
• Must possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action.

Responsibilities

• Plan, develop, organize, implement, evaluate, and direct the Maintenance Department, its programs and activities.
• Develop and maintain written maintenance policies and procedures.
• Assist the maintenance staff in the development and use of departmental policies, procedures, equipment, supplies, etc.
• Review the department’s policies, procedure manuals, job descriptions, etc., at least annually for revisions and make recommendations to the Administrator.
• Coordinate maintenance services and activities with other related departments (i.e., Dietary, Nursing, Activities, etc.).
• Make written oral reports/recommendations to the Administrator as necessary/required concerning the operation of the Maintenance Department.
• Assist in establishing a preventive maintenance program.
