Job summary

Wynwood Rehabilitation & Healthcare Center in New Jersey seeks aMaintenance leader to oversee the Maintenance Department, develop and enforce policies, and coordinate critical services with nursing and dietary teams. The role requires hands-on expertise with boilers, electrical, plumbing systems and a strong ability to read blueprints.

The successful candidate will manage preventive maintenance programs, ensure safety compliance, and work closely with administrators to maintain facility

Qualifications

• Minimum of two years experience in a maintenance position.
• Experience in nursing home environments preferred.
• HVAC certification is strongly preferred and beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Plan, develop, organize, implement, evaluate, and direct the Maintenance Department, its programs and activities.
• Develop and maintain written maintenance policies and procedures.
• Assist maintenance staff in developing and using departmental policies, procedures, equipment, supplies, etc.
• Review department policies, procedure manuals, job descriptions, etc., annually and recommend revisions to the Administrator.
• Coordinate maintenance services with related departments (Dietary, Nursing, Activities, etc.).
• Make written or oral reports/recommendations to the Administrator regarding Maintenance operation.
• Assist in establishing a preventive maintenance program.

Qualifications

• Must have, as a minimum, two (2) years experience in a maintenance position.
• Nursing home experience required.
• HVAC certification strongly preferred.
• Must be knowledgeable of boilers, compressors, generators, etc., as well as various mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems.
• Must have the ability to read and interpret blueprints.
• Must be knowledgeable in building codes and safety regulations.
• Must be licensed in accordance with current applicable standards, codes, labor laws, etc.

Responsibilities

• Plan, develop, organize, implement, evaluate, and direct the Maintenance Department, its programs and activities.
• Develop and maintain written maintenance policies and procedures.
• Assist the maintenance staff in the development and use of departmental policies, procedures, equipment, supplies, etc.
• Review the department’s policies, procedure manuals, job descriptions, etc., at least annually for revisions and make recommendations to the Administrator.
• Coordinate maintenance services and activities with other related departments (i.e., Dietary, Nursing, Activities, etc.).
• Make written oral reports/recommendations to the Administrator as necessary/required concerning the operation of the Maintenance Department.
• Assist in establishing a preventive maintenance program.
