Job summary

SNF Healthcare in New Jersey is seeking an experienced Maintenance professional to oversee the Maintenance Department in a nursing home setting. The role requires hands-on management of programs, policies, and daily operations to ensure safe, compliant, and reliable building systems.

The ideal candidate will have at least two years of maintenance experience, nursing home exposure, and knowledge of boilers, HVAC, electrical and plumbing systems, with blueprint reading and adherence to codes.

Qualifications

• Minimum of two years’ maintenance experience.
• Nursing home experience required.
• HVAC certification preferred.
• Knowledge of boilers, compressors, generators, and mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems.
• Ability to read blueprints.
• Knowledge of building codes and safety regulations.
• Must be licensed according to current standards, codes and labor laws.

Responsibilities

• Plan, develop, organize, implement, evaluate, and direct the Maintenance Department, its programs and activities.
• Develop and maintain written maintenance policies and procedures.
• Assist the maintenance staff in the development and use of departmental policies, procedures, equipment, supplies, etc.
• Review the department’s policies, procedure manuals, job descriptions, etc., at least annually for revisions and make recommendations to the Administrator.
• Coordinate maintenance services and activities with other related departments (i.e., Dietary, Nursing, Activities, etc.).
• Make written oral reports/recommendations to the Administrator as necessary/required concerning the operation of the Maintenance Department.
• Assist in establishing a preventive maintenance program.
