Job summary

SNF Healthcare is seeking a maintenance professional to lead and manage the facility's maintenance department. The role requires hands-on expertise with boilers, generators, and building systems, plus strong reading of blueprints and adherence to safety regs.

Nursing home experience is required; HVAC certification is strongly preferred. Ideal candidate will demonstrate independent decision-making abilities and proven maintenance leadership in a health-care setting, ensuring compliance with codes

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years in a maintenance position.
• Nursing home experience required.
• HVAC certification strongly preferred.
• Knowledge of boilers, compressors, generators, and assorted mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
• Knowledge of building codes and safety regulations.
• Licensed according to current standards, codes and labor laws.
• Must read/write/speak English.
• Ability to make independent decisions when warranted.

Responsibilities

• Plan, develop, organize, implement, evaluate, and direct the Maintenance Department and its programs.
• Develop and maintain written maintenance policies and procedures.
• Assist maintenance staff with policies, procedures, equipment and supplies.
• Review department policies/manuals annually and propose revisions to Administrator.
• Coordinate maintenance activities with other departments (Dietary, Nursing, Activities, etc.).
• Provide written/oral reports to Administrator as needed about Maintenance operations.
• Assist in establishing a preventive maintenance program.

Qualifications •Must have, as a minimum, two (2) years experience in a maintenance position. •Nursing home experience required. •HVAC certification strongly preferred. •Must be knowledgeable of boilers, compressors, generators, etc., as well as various mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems. •Must have the ability to read and interpret blueprints. •Must be knowledgeable in building codes and safety regulations. •Must be licensed in accordance with current applicable standards, codes, labor laws, etc. •Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language. •Must possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action. Responsibilities •Plan, develop, organize, implement, evaluate, and direct the Maintenance Department, its programs and activities. •Develop and maintain written maintenance policies and procedures. •Assist the maintenance staff in the development and use of departmental policies, procedures, equipment, supplies, etc. •Review the department’s policies, procedure manuals, job descriptions, etc., at least annually for revisions and make recommendations to the Administrator. •Coordinate maintenance services and activities with other related departments (i.e., Dietary, Nursing, Activities, etc.). •Make written oral reports/recommendations to the Administrator as necessary/required concerning the operation of the Maintenance Department. •Assist in establishing a preventive maintenance program.
