Job summary

PruittHealth is seeking a Maintenance Director for Assisted Living to oversee the facility's physical environment and essential systems, ensuring safety and adherence to Life Safety Code and state/federal regulations.

The role manages maintenance staff, prioritizes work orders, maintains emergency power and climate controls, and collaborates with residents and families to sustain a secure, homelike setting.

Qualifications

• Minimum high school education or equivalent.
• One (1) year experience in physical maintenance operations and equipment maintenance.
• Basic working knowledge of a computer (i.e. Microsoft Office Suite).

Responsibilities

• Collects, reviews maintenance requisitions from all units and departments of the facility.
• Reviews information, establishes priorities, assigns staff or inspects, replaces, repairs, or resolves the problem.
• Establishes and conducts scheduled maintenance throughout the facility and for all equipment.
• Maintains and tests the emergency power system to ensure power for entrances, exits, alarms and life support systems.
• Performs daily maintenance duties and keeps essential equipment in safe operating condition.
• Ensures potable water availability in event of loss of normal water supply.
• Monitors temperature ranges and initiates repairs to eliminate hazards.
• Communicates with residents, families and legal representatives to identify needs.
• Monitors maintenance staff performance and conducts observations across shifts.
• Performs quality assurance functions including compliance rounds.
• Develops and updates maintenance policies aligning with regulations.
• Maintains documentation and records of maintenance activities; audits records for accuracy.
• Collaborates with consultants for timely information and improvements.
• Monitors OSHA safety compliance and handles post-exposure follow-up as needed.
• Participates in monthly department budget discussions with Administrator.
• Hires and retains housekeeping staff to maintain a safe, sanitary environment.
• Participates in long-term care survey readiness and information collection.
