Job summary

Adopt A Highway Maintenance Corporation (AHMC) is seeking a part-time Maintenance Crew Member for the Durham, NC area. The work is outdoors along highways during daylight hours with an early start and typically finishing around 3:30 PM.

You will perform litter removal and travel between cleaning spots, coordinating with the Field Maintenance Supervisor. The crew is provided with safety gear, free snacks, and there is a monthly bonus potential after 60 days along with occasional paid holidays.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years or older and able to lift up to 20lbs independently.
• Walk several miles at a time and be on their feet for the majority of their shift.
• Communicate verbally and listen to instructions from their supervisor.
• Be comfortable working outdoors up to 90% of the shift with exposure to varying temperatures and weather patterns.
• Be comfortable working alongside the shoulder of the highway.

Salary Range: $13.00 To $13.00 Hourly

Litter Removal Crew Member (Monthly Bonus Potential / Flexible Scheduling)

Reports To:Field Maintenance Supervisor

Schedule: Mon – Fri Variable Hours, Part-Time, Non-Exempt

Pay Rate - $13.00/hr

• The work is outdoors along highways during daylight hours
• The work starts early but we also get done early usually around 3:30 each day
• We have been doing this type of work for over 30 years
• Crew are provided free snacks and we treat for lunch at least once a week
• Safety equipment is provided and replaced as needed
• The work is mixed between litter removal and travel from cleaning spots
• We have a pickup spot that we meet at every morning and then we handle all the transportation
