Job summary

Adopt A Highway Maintenance Corporation (AHMC) in Long Island, NY, is seeking a Maintenance Crew Member to join its outdoor litter removal team. The role starts early, operates on a Mon–Fri schedule, is part-time, and involves working along highways with daylight hours.

You will be paid $16.50 per hour, with a monthly bonus potential after 60 days, and safety gear provided. The crew enjoys snacks and occasional lunch, and the team meets at a daily pickup spot for transportation to sites.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years or older and able to lift up to 20lbs independently.
• Walk several miles at a time and be on their feet for the majority of their shift.
• Communicate verbally and listen to instructions from their supervisor.
• Be comfortable working outdoors up to 90% of the shift with exposure to varying temperatures and weather patterns We do not work in extreme weather conditions.
• Be comfortable working alongside the shoulder of the highway.

Responsibilities

• Outdoor highway cleanup along highways during daylight hours.
• Work starts early and typically finishes around 3:30 PM.
• Litter removal and travel between cleanup spots.
• Crew is provided safety equipment and snacks; lunch is provided at least once a week.
• Meet at a pickup spot each morning for transportation to job sites.
