8Fleet, Inc. is hiring a hands-on Fleet Maintenance Lead for San Francisco and San Diego. You will schedule preventive maintenance, coordinate repairs, and oversee the Fleet Specialist team to keep vehicles on the road.

You must have 3+ years in fleet or vehicle maintenance, knowledge of vehicle systems, and vendor management. Availability for 24-hour operations, including nights and weekends, is required. Proficiency with Fleetio, Samsara, or ServiceUp is a plus; ASE certification or EV/hybrid

Qualifications

• 3+ years in fleet, automotive or vehicle maintenance
• Working knowledge of vehicle systems and managing vendors
• Comfort with fleet software (Fleetio, Samsara, ServiceUp)
• Availability for a 24-hour operation, including nights/weekends/on‑call
• Valid driver's license and clean driving record

Responsibilities

• Own the preventive maintenance schedule for your market
• Coordinate repairs and track vehicles until back in service
• Manage outside shops and vendors from scheduling through invoice review
• Direct the day-to-day work of the Fleet Specialist team
• Track downtime and cost per vehicle; keep maintenance records current
• Take unsafe vehicles out of service and address safety issues immediately

About The Role

You'll make sure our vehicles are ready to drive. You'll schedule maintenance, manage repair shops and vendors, direct our Fleet Specialists, and know at any hour what's down and why. This is a hands‑on role. You'll spend as much time in the lot and the shop as at a screen.

We're hiring for San Francisco and San Diego.

What You'll Do

• Own the preventive maintenance schedule for your market.
• Coordinate repairs and track every vehicle until it's back in service.
• Manage outside shops and vendors, from scheduling through invoice review.
• Direct the day‑to‑day work of the Fleet Specialist team.
• Track downtime and cost per vehicle, and keep maintenance records and inspections current.
• Take unsafe vehicles out of service and escape safety issues right away.

What You'll Bring

• 3+ years in fleet, automotive or vehicle maintenance (shop, dealership service, rental, delivery or transit fleet).
• Working knowledge of vehicle systems and experience managing vendors.
• Comfort with fleet software. We use Fleetio, Samsara and ServiceUp.
• Availability for a 24-hour operation, including some nights, weekends and on‑call.
• Valid driver's license and clean driving record.

Nice to Have

• ASE certification or technician background.
• EV or hybrid experience.
• Experience leading a small team.

Compensation

Base Salary: $71,000–$75,000 + equity
