Job summary

8Fleet Inc. is hiring in the San Francisco and San Diego markets to keep our vehicles ready to drive. This hands-on role will involve spending significant time in the lot and shop, coordinating maintenance and repairs to minimize downtime.

You will lead the Fleet Specialist team, coordinate repairs with vendors, and track maintenance across our fleet. A 24/7 operation requires flexibility, a valid driver’s license, and a strong focus on safety and efficiency.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in fleet, automotive or vehicle maintenance.
• Experience with managing vendors and vehicle systems.
• Proficient with fleet software such as Fleetio, Samsara and ServiceUp.
• Willingness to work a 24-hour operation, including nights and weekends.
• Valid driver’s license with clean record.

Responsibilities

• Own the preventive maintenance schedule for your market.
• Coordinate repairs and track vehicles until back in service.
• Manage outside shops and vendors, from scheduling through invoice review.
• Direct the day-to-day work of the Fleet Specialist team.
• Track downtime and cost per vehicle; keep maintenance records and inspections current.
• Take unsafe vehicles out of service and escalate safety issues.

8Fleet is a Los Angeles-based technology and logistics company building the operational infrastructure behind modern rideshare fleets. Our vehicles run 24 hours a day across five markets.

About the Role

You’ll make sure our vehicles are ready to drive. You’ll schedule maintenance, manage repair shops and vendors, direct our Fleet Specialists, and know at any hour what’s down and why. This is a hands-on role. You’ll spend as much time in the lot and the shop as at a screen.

We’re hiring for San Francisco and San Diego.

What You’ll Do

• Own the preventive maintenance schedule for your market.

• Coordinate repairs and track every vehicle until it’s back in service.

• Manage outside shops and vendors, from scheduling through invoice review.

• Direct the day-to-day work of the Fleet Specialist team.

• Track downtime and cost per vehicle, and keep maintenance records and inspections current.

• Take unsafe vehicles out of service and escal safety issues right away.

What You’ll Bring

• 3+ years in fleet, automotive or vehicle maintenance (shop, dealership service, rental, delivery or transit fleet).

• Working knowledge of vehicle systems and experience managing vendors.

• Comfort with fleet software. We use Fleetio, Samsara and ServiceUp.

• Availability for a 24-hour operation, including some nights, weekends and on-call.

• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.

Nice to Have

• ASE certification or technician background.

• EV or hybrid experience.

• Experience leading a small team.

Compensation

Base Salary: $71,000-$75,000 + equity
