Job summary

Accelera in Mason, Ohio is seeking a Maintenance & Controls Engineer to advance our high‑performance battery production. You will optimize uptime, manage automated production systems, and implement preventive and predictive maintenance across electrical, mechanical, and control platforms.

You will program and troubleshoot PLCs, HMIs, motion controls, and robotics, install and commission new lines, develop maintenance schedules, and drive continuous improvement projects to boost OEE, MTBF,

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related engineering field.
• 5+ years in a production environment supporting automated manufacturing systems.
• Proven PLC troubleshooting experience.
• Proficiency with major PLC platforms (Allen-Bradley, Siemens, Beckhoff, OMRON, Mitsubishi).
• Experience with HMI, Ethernet/IP, Profinet, DeviceNet, Modbus, or EtherCAT.
• Hands‑on with motion control, VFDs, servo systems, and industrial networks.
• Experience with industrial robotics brands (FANUC, ABB, Universal Robots, Yaskawa, Epson).
• Ability to read electrical schematics and control panel layouts.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and troubleshoot automated production machinery to sustain high productivity.
• Identify and resolve failures across electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, servo and controls systems.
• Program, troubleshoot, and modify PLCs, HMIs, motion control systems, and automation hardware.
• Assist installation, startup, commissioning, and validation of new production lines.
• Create and implement maintenance schedules to improve reliability and reduce downtime.
• Lead root-cause investigations using 5-Why, Fishbone, and FMEA.
