Job summary

Accelera is seeking a Senior Automation and Controls Engineer to lead design, implementation, and optimization of advanced process control systems. You will drive reliability and efficiency by managing DCS/PLC infrastructure across production networks.

The role requires hands-on experience with Rockwell, ABB, and Wonderware platforms, strong PLC/SCADA skills, and a track record of delivering projects from concept to startup.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Chemical, or Automation Engineering.
• 5+ years of hands-on experience with industrial control system design and maintenance.
• Deep proficiency in PLC ladder logic, SCADA systems, and analog loop tuning.
• Strong understanding of TCP/IP networking, cybersecurity standards (NIST/ISA), and server infrastructure.
• Proven ability to work independently and manage complex technical projects from concept to startup.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the lifecycle of control systems, including programming, commissioning, and maintenance of Rockwell, ABB, and Wonderware platforms.
• Implement logic modifications to reduce downtime and improve process stability, ensuring all changes follow rigorous management of change protocols.
• Develop and maintain process control algorithms and optimization strategies to maximize plant performance.
• Manage site-wide instrumentation and control network health, including servers, switches, and historian databases like Canary.
• Provide technical leadership and coaching to operations teams and contractors to ensure high-quality execution of control projects.
• Maintain critical system documentation, including P&IDs, network diagrams, and control system schematics to ensure regulatory compliance.
• Proactively monitor system performance and lead rapid troubleshooting efforts to resolve technical incidents.
